I think I might have been a little bit slack on blogging recently! Over six months is a pretty inexcusable, particularly when I know how important it is to be blogging regularly. The thing is, other things always seem to get in the way and take priority, which is why I think iDevBlogADay is going to do me the world of good.
The iDevBlogADay is an initiative started through Twitter where ten indie game developers will each take a day of the week to blog on. Rather than enforce a ten-day week on the world, some of us are doubling up. This means that if I miss a week I’ll have nine other developers on my case – it’s a blog accountability!
There’s a really great mixture of people too. From full-time games development veterans, to part-timers and hobbyists just starting out. Here’s who we’ve got:
- Christopher Waite at Bytesize Adventures on Sunday
- Owen Goss at Streaming Colour on Monday
- Bob Koon at App Size Matters on Tuesday
- Markus Nigrin at Pocket Cyclone also on Tuesday
- Miguel Á. Friginal at Mystery Coconut on Wednesday
- Noel Llopis at Games from Within on Thursday
- George Sealy at Acorn Heroes on Friday
- Gavin Bowman at Retro Dreamer also on Friday
- Frederic Tessier at Québarium on Saturday as well as myself
That’s quite an impressive line up, and it’s going to make for some great daily reading I’m sure. I’ve already been making changes to the, still basic but now more functional, Rizer Games site in preparation for my first iDevBlogADay post on Saturday where I’ll be talking about what I’ve been doing in the last six months. And from now on you can look forward to a post from me every week, or else Miguel will be after me with his flying quesadillas!
